After a string of four wins, New Braunfels's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost to the Alamo Heights Mules on the road by a 68-51 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Unicorns this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-48 back in December of 2024.

Alamo Heights' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Beau Taber, who went 9 of 12 en route to 23 points. Those 23 points gave Taber a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matthew Munguia, who posted 15 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

New Braunfels' loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 21-12. As for Alamo Heights, their record now sits at 24-7.

New Braunfels will host Boerne at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boerne knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully New Braunfels likes a good challenge. As for Alamo Heights, they are taking a road trip to face off against Wagner at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wagner will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Alamo Heights surely won't give up without a fight.
