Enfield has won four straight games at home, while Berlin has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Eagles will host the Redcoats at 4:15 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Enfield 2, Berlin 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
It was a Battle of the Birds when Enfield took on Avon on Tuesday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Falcons. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Payten Stebbins was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Enfield got a massive performance out of Emily Lyver, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Hailey Anderson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Enfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Berlin got themselves on the board against Conard on Tuesday, but Conard never followed suit. They won by a run and slipped past the Red Wolves 1-0. The Redcoats haven't had any issues with the Red Wolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Not much got past Callie Jehning, who gave up just five hits to keep Conard off the board.
On the hitting side, Berlin's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jill Farrand, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Enfield is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Berlin, their win bumped their record up to 17-4.
Wednesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Enfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Berlin struggles in that department as they've averaged .417. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Enfield skirted past Berlin 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Redcoats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
