Softball Recap: Miami East Extends Winning Streak to 14

Miami East extended their postseason success on Thursday against Williamsburg. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won 18 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jacqueline Kadel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Kadel was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jorgia Roeth, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Jaila Thurman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Miami East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williamsburg only posted a batting average of .000.

The victory (which was Miami East's 14th in a row) raised their record to 25-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Williamsburg, the loss snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 22-4 record.

As of now, neither Miami East nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
