Basketball Recap: Elkhorn's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

While it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, Elkhorn was not quite Wahoo's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell 56-47 to the Wahoo Warriors. That makes it the first time this season the Antlers have let down their home crowd.

Elkhorn's loss came despite strong showings from Nixon Farmer and Jake Petersen. Farmer posted 17 points in addition to five assists and three steals, while Petersen scored nine points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Turman, who earned four points.

Wahoo was led to victory by Dylan Simons and Cody Hesser. Simons put up 16 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, while Hesser went 7 for 12 on his way to 15 points and seven boards. The match was Simons' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eli Shada, who had eight points.

Elkhorn's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-4. As for Wahoo, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-2.

Elkhorn has already played their next contest, a 66-61 defeat against Boys Town on the 11th. As for Wahoo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-60 loss against Lincoln Lutheran on the 11th.
