Baseball Game Preview: Stuart Hornets vs. Kiowa Cowboys

The Stuart Hornets will square off against the Kiowa Cowboys at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kiowa's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Stuart hadn't allowed a single run the last six times they've hit the field. The Hornets didn't even let Coalgate on the board on Friday, marking the Hornets' second-straight 8-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Kiowa got the win against Hartshorne on Monday by a conclusive 13-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cowboys.

Kiowa pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Stuart, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Stuart skirted past Kiowa 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Cowboys have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
