Normandy and Westlake are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Invaders are taking a road trip to take on the Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Westlake took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Normandy, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Normandy needed a bit of extra time to put away Bay. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Rockets.

Ava Ramirez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 12 batters over eight innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Aubrey Kuhn was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Maddie Kirk was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Normandy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Westlake came up short against Avon on Friday and fell 6-3. The Demons haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Cydney Loucka spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
At the plate, Maddie Moden made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Carson Schneider, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Westlake's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Normandy, their record now sits at 4-5.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Normandy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. However, it's not like Westlake struggles in that department as they've averaged .425. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Normandy might still be hurting after the 14-3 defeat they got from Westlake in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Invaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
