TOPSFIELD, Mass. -
Masconomet Regional (Topsfield, Mass.) jumped out to an early lead against Revere (Mass.) and never looked back on the way to a 42-0 victory on Saturday.
The Chieftains put up seven points in the opening frame. Masconomet Regional scored on a touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the first quarter, MR led 28-0 at the half.
The Topsfield school expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. The Chieftains scored once in the quarter on a rushing touchdown.
Masconomet Regional's most effective player was
Dylan Mann. He ran for one touchdown. He has now scored eight touchdowns on the season.
MR had given up an average of 15.7 points prior to the contest.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 28-7 win for the Chieftains.
With the win Masconomet Regional extended its winning streak to four games.
In a non-conference game next week Masconomet Regional (8-2) takes on North Andover, and Revere (5-4) will go up against Winthrop also in a non-conference game.
