Softball Preview: Randleman Tigers vs. Southwestern Randolph Cougars        
        
		
            
 Randleman is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Southwestern Randolph is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Randleman Tigers will take on the Southwestern Randolph Cougars at 6:00  p.m.  on Friday. The last three games Randleman has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
 On Wednesday, Randleman sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  6-5  win over Central Davidson.
  Kinzie Ivey was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  6.1 innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   four  hits. Ivey has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  pitched less than six  innings in four consecutive pitching appearances. Ivey was also big at the plate,  firing off two  home runs while going 2-for-3.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Lyric Chriscoe, who  went 3-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.  Teanna Bostick was another key contributor,  going 1-for-4 with a  home run.
 Meanwhile, while Southwestern Randolph put up some  runs on Wednesday, the same  can't be said for West Stanly. Southwestern Randolph walked away with  a   3-0  victory over West Stanly.
  Maddie Strider was  incredible,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Madelyn Smith, who  went 1-for-4 with a  home run and three  RBI.
 Randleman's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Southwestern Randolph, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record  this season.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Friday as both teams have some strikeout artists on the roster. Randleman has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 7.2  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Southwestern Randolph struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 8.7. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Randleman suffered a grim  7-0 defeat to Southwestern Randolph  in their previous matchup  back in March. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of  Southwestern Randolph's  Macie Crutchfield, who   didn't allow a single  earned run and  only two  hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched.
