Preview: Mary Persons Bulldogs vs. Peach County Trojans

The Mary Persons Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Peach County Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.

Last Friday, Mary Persons didn't have too much trouble with Upson-Lee at home as they won 52-37. 52 seems to be a good number for Mary Persons as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Mary Persons' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zaria Wilson, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Wilson has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Zoey Shannon was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Peach County strolled past Jackson with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 57-39. Given Peach County's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Jackson is ranked 400th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mary Persons has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Peach County, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

Mary Persons didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Peach County in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 50-45 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mary Persons since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
