Preview: Kent County Trojans vs. Pocomoke Warriors
The Kent County Trojans will be playing at home against the Pocomoke Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Thursday, Kent County came up short against St. Michaels and fell 56-46.
Meanwhile, Pocomoke's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Bennett on the road and fell 94-50. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pocomoke in their matchups with Bennett: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite their defeat, Pocomoke saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lamarquis Douglas, who scored nine points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Zymiere Walker, who scored eight points.
Kent County has not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Pocomoke, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Everything went Kent County's way against Pocomoke when the teams last played back in December of 2018 as Kent County made off with a 61-40 win. Will Kent County repeat their success, or does Pocomoke have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
