The Maynard Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Notre Dame Academy Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Maynard's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Notre Dame Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Wednesday. Maynard came out on top against Tyngsborough by a score of 5-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Maynard.

Maddy Karlon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Elizabeth Schmidt, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Carroll, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame Academy hadn't done well against Blackstone Valley RVT recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Rebels walked away with a 10-5 win over the Beavers.
Notre Dame Academy also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Mila Aldrin gave up five earned runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks.
At the plate, Natalie Williams was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Maddy Burgoyne, who went 1-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Notre Dame Academy now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Maynard, their record is now 10-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Maynard has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Notre Dame Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Maynard skirted past Notre Dame Academy 5-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
