Recap: Edna Cowboys vs. Columbus Cardinals
The Edna Cowboys had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They walked away with a 49-40 win over Columbus. This was payback for Edna, who suffered a 57-45 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Columbus still got an impressive performance from Karlee Mathis, who scored 12 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sage Thomas, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds.
Edna's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Columbus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.
Edna will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against George West at 4:30 p.m. on December 7th. George West will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Columbus, they will face off against Smithville at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Smithville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 43 on Tuesday.
