Football Preview: Ozark Hillbillies vs. Waldron Bulldogs
Ozark is 6-0 against Waldron since September of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Ozark focused on turnovers this week as the team gave up four last Friday.
Ozark took a loss when they played away from home on September 6th, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 35-34 win over Charleston. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but the Hillbillies were the better team in the second half.
Cade Capp had a dynamite game for Ozark, rushing for 253 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 102 yards and a touchdown on only nine passes. Capp really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Ozark was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 394 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 230 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Waldron ended up a good deal behind Muldrow last Friday and lost 28-14. Waldron has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ozark now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Waldron, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
