Basketball Recap: Marysville's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

After flying high against Center last Monday, Marysville came back down to earth. The Marysville Indians fell 59-49 to the Colfax Falcons on Wednesday. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 65-51.

When it comes to explaining why Marysville lost, don't look at Jordan Witt. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 12 on his way to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Witt a new career-high in points. Kaleb Hill was another key player, putting up six points.

With the defeat, Marysville broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-7. As for Colfax, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Marysville and Colfax should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Marysville will take on Mira Loma at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 406 places (350 vs. 756). Marysville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69.4 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Colfax (ranked 376th) will meet Center (ranked 826th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
