Softball Recap: Lamar Has No Trouble Against Mcbee

Lamar made up a huge gap compared to their last game against McBee, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Silver Foxes blew past the Panthers 8-2 on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Silver Foxes: when they faced off against the Panthers last Tuesday, they had to take a 6-0 loss.

Abby McManus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jordyn Scarbrough was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Taylor Guinn was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for McBee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will welcome Great Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for McBee, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against North Central at 7:00 p.m. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
