Soccer Recap: Starkville Extends Road Winning Streak to Eight

Starkville's game back in December of 2024 was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Tupelo Golden Wave. This was a revenge game for the Yellowjackets: when they faced off against the Golden Wave back in December of 2024, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Starkville's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. As for Tupelo, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-4.

Starkville will host Clinton at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Tupelo, they will face off against Germantown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tupelo's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
