Recap: Mountain View Christian Academy Conquerors vs. Paw Paw Pirates
If the Mountain View Christian Academy Conquerors were feeling good off their 58-34 takedown of the Wakefield Country Day Owls on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Mountain View Christian Academy ended up on the wrong side of a tough 55-33 walloping at the hands of Paw Paw on Thursday. Mountain View Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Paw Paw apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2015.
Mountain View Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Devin Michael, who scored ten points. The game was Michael's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Landon Demko, who scored eight points.
Donavan Tanouye had an outrageously good game for Paw Paw as he dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dre Heath, who scored 13 points.
Mountain View Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-3. As for Paw Paw, their victory was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View Christian Academy will take on Massanutten Military Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Massanutten Military Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Paw Paw won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Union at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th.
