Softball Recap: Minersville Comes Up Short

If Minersville was riding high fresh off their 16-2 takedown of Marian Catholic on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Battlin' Miners lost 11-1 to the Tri-Valley Bulldogs on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Battlin' Miners in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost eight in a row.

Minersville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Sterner, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Minersville's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Tri-Valley, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Coming up, Minersville will venture away from home to face off against Brandywine Heights Area at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Tri-Valley, they will host Pine Grove at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
