Football Game Preview: Canyon Comanches vs. Troy Warriors + Official Tickets

The Canyon Comanches will challenge the Troy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Canyon has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with four straight defeats, while Troy will come in with five straight victories.

On Thursday, Canyon came up short against Irvine and fell 29-21.

The losing side was boosted by Alexander Lundsberg, who threw for 162 yards and a pair of TDs.

Meanwhile, Troy was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Santa Ana 48-19. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 28 points or more this season.

Troy's win came from a few key players Canyon will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jackson Hintz, who rushed for 119 yards and two scores on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Mays, who threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Troy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 240 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 189 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Canyon's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Troy, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

The upcoming matchup will be a clash of competing strengths. Canyon has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 336.1 passing yards per game. Troy, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 267.6 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Thursday? There's only one way to find out.

Canyon took a serious blow against Troy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 58-23. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Comanches were down 51-12.
