Baseball Recap: Durant Victorious

Durant let Shawnee stack five runs on them in the seventh inning on Tuesday but luckily Durant prevailed anyway. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over the Wolves. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Holdan Robinson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Avalos, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI.

Durant's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Shawnee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Coming up, Durant will take on Oktaha in a tournament on Thursday. As for Shawnee, they will head out on the road to square off against Frederick at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
