Softball Recap: Southwestern Comes Up Short

Southwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 13-1 to the Fennimore Golden Eagles. The match marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Laney Ehrlich was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she brought in this season.

Southwestern's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Fennimore, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Southwestern will take on rival Mineral Point at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Fennimore is set to square off against their familiar foe Riverdale at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
