Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Grace Brown and Avaya Brown Lead Mandarin to Victory

Mandarin's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They took down the Riverside Generals 28-12.

A big part of Mandarin's win came down to the chemistry between Grace Brown and her top target Avaya Brown. Grace threw for 204 yards and two TDs while completing 73.3% of her passes while Avaya picked up 114 receiving yards and a pair of scores. That's the most passing yards Grace has posted since back in February.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mandarin's defense and their three sacks. Keiarra Curry was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two herself.

Mandarin's record is now 8-4. As for Riverside, they moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Mandarin didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-0 victory against Stanton on the 2nd. As for Riverside, they have also already played their next game, a 15-6 loss against University Christian on the 3rd.
