Football Recap: West Takes a Loss

West extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-2. They had to suffer through a 43-0 loss at the hands of the Linden-McKinley Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cowboys of the 45-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2022.

As for Linden-McKinley, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their eight-point performance the game before.

Linden-McKinley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Caldwell, who rushed for 120 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Davell Brock, who threw for 178 yards and three TDs on only 13 passes.

Coming up, West will take on Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Linden-McKinley, they will be playing at home against Eastmoor Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
