Softball Recap: Eatonville's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Eatonville had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 6-9 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Steilacoom Sentinels as they made off with a 20-10 win. The result was nothing new for the Cruisers, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Grace Field, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Kenney, who went 3-for-6 with four runs and two RBI.

Eatonville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

As for Steilacoom, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

On Steilacoom's side, Hannah Basford and Harper Runn did some serious damage despite the final result: Basford went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Runn got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. Abigail Butterfield was another key player, getting three hits from her three at bats.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eatonville will welcome Clover Park at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Timberwolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.45 runs per game on average), something the Cruisers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Steilacoom, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Orting at 4:00 p.m.
