Wagner gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They skirted past the Veterans Memorial Patriots 3-2. The Thunderbirds haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Ryder Brill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Wagner saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaysen Mattison, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Those two hits gave Mattison a new career-high.

Wagner's win bumped their record up to 4-15. As for Veterans Memorial, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Wagner will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Patriots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
