Recap: Owasso Rams vs. Edmond Santa Fe Wolves

On Friday, The Owasso Rams faced the Edmond Santa Fe Wolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Owasso secured a 57-53 W over Edmond Santa Fe. The victory was familiar territory for Owasso who now have five in a row.

Knox Dyson was his usual excellent self, throwing for 509 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Deuce Chalk, who picked up 224 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Edmond Santa Fe's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Demarius Robinson, who rushed for 290 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.4 yards per carry, and Daniel Newton who rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. Robinson's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bergin Kysar, who picked up 131 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Owasso's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 8-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Yukon and 3-8 Westmoore (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.1% over those games). As for Edmond Santa Fe, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-3.

Owasso will head out on the road to face off against Norman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. As for Edmond Santa Fe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Yukon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Yukon has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since September 8.
