Volleyball Recap: Haverhill Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Haverhill, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dracut Middies on Monday, sneaking past 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Hillies: when they faced off against the Middies back in April, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Haverhill who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 22-25, 25-17, 17-25, 15-8.

Brady Paris paced Haverhill's offense, picking up 11 kills. Paris got some help from Peter Grillo and his 37 assists. Finally, Parker DeNatale kept Haverhill's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Haverhill's record now sits at 4-10. As for Dracut, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Haverhill will challenge Methuen at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rangers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Hillies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Dracut, they will head out to take on North Andover at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
