Basketball Recap: Cassie Junge's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sleepy Hollow over Ardsley

Sleepy Hollow lost against Ardsley back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sleepy Hollow Horsemen came up short against the Ardsley Panthers, falling 48-27. The Horsemen were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-9.

Sleepy Hollow lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Cassie Junge, who posted six points.

Ardsley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Whitney Butler, who scored nine points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Butler a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Macri, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 10 points and five boards.

Sleepy Hollow has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Ardsley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Sleepy Hollow will venture away from home to square off against Hendrick Hudson at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hendrick Hudson has four straight wins, Sleepy Hollow has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
