Baseball Recap: St. Edmund Prep Takes a Loss

St. Edmund Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holy Cross Knights. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in March of 2018.

St. Edmund Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-5-1. As for Holy Cross, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

St. Edmund Prep and Holy Cross could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Eagles will take on St. John's Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (72 vs. 10). Meanwhile, Holy Cross (ranked 59th) will meet Archbishop Molloy (ranked ninth) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
