Softball Recap: Jacobs Golden Eagles vs. Cary-Grove Trojans
After flying high against Palatine last Saturday, Jacobs came back down to earth. The Golden Eagles fell 15-10 to the Cary-Grove Trojans on Monday. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.
Jianna Tanada and Talia Disilvio did some serious damage despite the final result: Tanada scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Disilvio scored a run while going 2-for-4. Kendall Davignon also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Jacobs dropped their record down to 7-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Cary-Grove, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jacobs is set to square off against their familiar foe Prairie Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cary-Grove will challenge rival Hampshire at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
