Baseball Recap: Montgomery Bell Academy Comes Up Short

Montgomery Bell Academy had lost four straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 10-13 to make it five. They fell just short of the Brentwood Academy Eagles by a score of 3-1. The Big Red were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

As for Brentwood Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 8-15 record. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Montgomery Bell Academy since April 29, 2021.

For Brentwood Academy's part, Drew Atkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits.

On the hitting side, William Lee was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was his first of the season.

While Montgomery Bell Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
