Soccer Game Preview: San Marin vs. Tamalpais

San Marin hasn't had much luck against Tamalpais recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The San Marin Mustangs will be playing at home against the Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks at 11:00 a.m.

San Marin managed to keep up with Ukiah until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. San Marin lost 3-0 to Ukiah. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Wildcats are ranked 56th).

Meanwhile, Tamalpais had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Red Devils a 2-0 shutout. Give the Red Tailed Hawks' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

San Marin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2-2. As for Tamalpais, they now have a winning record of 3-2-2.
