Basketball Recap: Branford Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Amyah James and Brianna Barrs

Branford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 42-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Countryside Christian Minutemen. If the Buccaneers were looking for revenge after losing 39-29 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Branford's loss came despite strong showings from Brianna Barrs and Amyah James. Barrs dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while James posted 12 points and seven rebounds. Kalyn Osgood was another key player, putting up five points.

Branford's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Countryside Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Branford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 70-19 loss against Fort White on the 17th. As for Countryside Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-37 defeat against First Christian on the 17th.
