Basketball Game Preview: Middle Creek Mustangs vs. Corvian Community Cardinals

The Middle Creek Mustangs will face off against the Corvian Community Cardinals at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Middle Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Corvian Community likes a good challenge.

Middle Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cole Cornelius, who posted 25 points and five rebounds. Those 25 points gave Cornelius a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brittain Queen, who had 16 points and five boards.

Middle Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Corvian Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 82-65 to Lincoln Charter.

Middle Creek will have to contain Brycen Hinnant as he made an impact in Corvian Community's last game. He went 5-for-6 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Braylon Gray, who earned 12 points and five assists.

Corvian Community's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Middle Creek, their record is now 5-3.
