Preview: Ripon Indians vs. Hughson Huskies
After two games on the road, Ripon is heading back home. They will take on The Hughson Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Friday, Ripon had to suffer through a rough 40-7 loss at the hands of Escalon. Ripon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 21-0.
Meanwhile, Hughson was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 24-23 to Hilmar.
Despite the loss, Hughson got a solid performance out of Robert Mcdaniel, who threw for 248 yards and a touchdown.
Ripon's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-6. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 7.0 points per game. As for Hughson, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Ripon couldn't quite finish off Hughson when the teams last played back in October of 2022 and fell 21-19. Will Ripon have more luck at home instead of on the road?
