Baseball Game Preview: Forest Wildcats vs. North Marion Colts

The Forest Wildcats will head out to take on the North Marion Colts at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Forest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Forest came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Buchholz, falling 9-0. The shutout was out of character for the Wildcats seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

Forest saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Schoncheck, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, North Marion got the win against Santa Fe on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-2. The Colts might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Trenton Ramsey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rowan Quartararo, who went 1-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Harper Galavis, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

North Marion now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Forest, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-11 record.

Forest skirted past North Marion 14-13 when the teams last played on Wednesday. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Colts turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
