Baseball Recap: Northeast Wins Going Away Against Warren East

Northeast not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th. They put the hurt on the Warren East Raiders with a sharp 9-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Luke Guzman looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Northeast is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 9-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Northeast let Luke Dudley and Michael Marley run wild. Dudley scored a run while going 1-for-1, while Marley scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, Dudley posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Noah Rodriquez, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Northeast's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Warren East, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Northeast and Warren East are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Vikings will face off against Pinellas Park at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The last four games the Patriots have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Warren East, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Barren County at 5:30 p.m.
