Football Recap: Russell Christian Academy Skates Past Victory Christian with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Russell Christian Academy's strategy against Victory Christian on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Warriors blew the Eagles out of the water with a 53-14 final score. Considering the Warriors have won seven contests by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Russell Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Grayson Garrett, who rushed for 113 yards on only eight carries. Those 113 rushing yards gave Garrett a new career-high.

Another reason for the win was Russell Christian Academy's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 4.5 sacks. Victory Christian's QB won't forget Joshua Moore anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

The victory (which was Russell Christian Academy's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 10.8 points on average over those games. As for Victory Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
