Volleyball Recap: Duchesne Takes a Loss

Duchesne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lincoln East Spartans. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Spartans when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Adele Patch paced Duchesne's offense, picking up four kills. Patch got some help from Kaitlyn Bodnar and her 13 assists.

Lincoln East found their leader in sophomore Eva Gutz, who had 11 digs and three assists. Gutz is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last five games she's played. Raegan Lehr also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Duchesne's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Lincoln East, their victory bumped their record up to 7-13.

Coincidentally, Duchesne and Lincoln East will both be playing Bennington the next time they take the court. The Cardinals will head out to face the Badgers at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
