Football Recap: Saxony Lutheran's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Saxony Lutheran, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took down the Massac County Patriots 42-28 on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Crusaders as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Massac County still got an impressive performance from Dee Carruthers, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 111 receiving yards. Devin Harris was in the mix as well, providing the Patriots with two scores.

Saxony Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Massac County, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saxony Lutheran will square off against Red Bud at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders will be up against the Musketeers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Massac County, they will challenge Pinckneyville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Patriots will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.13 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
