Basketball Recap: Weaver Starts Season with Loss at Home

Weaver unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 72-47 to the Jacksonville Golden Eagles on Thursday. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 66-34 to the Golden Eagles when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Weaver is headed away from home for the first time to challenge White Plains at 6:00 p.m. on the 14th. As for Jacksonville, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ashville at 1:45 p.m. on the 18th.
