Basketball Game Preview: Foxcroft Academy Ponies vs. Mount Desert Island Trojans

Foxcroft Academy is 1-9 against Mount Desert Island since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Foxcroft Academy Ponies will head out on the road to face off against the Mount Desert Island Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Foxcroft Academy is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 31-30 heartbreaker at the hands of Hermon.

Meanwhile, Mount Desert Island came up short against Caribou on Saturday and fell 64-51. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Vikings are ranked first).

Foxcroft Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Mount Desert Island, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Foxcroft Academy ended up a good deal behind Mount Desert Island when the teams last played on January 8th, losing 48-34. Can Foxcroft Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
