Basketball Recap: Phillips Comes Up Short

Phillips was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 65-30 loss at the hands of the Niles North Vikings. The Wildcats lost against the Vikings in their previous head to head back in November of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 75-71 score last time.

Denari Stewart and Sharvez Scott certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Stewart posted nine points, while Scott had eight points.

Phillips' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Niles North, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Coming up, Phillips will head out to challenge Christian Fenger Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Niles North, they will face off against Northtown at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
