Basketball Recap: Beachside Snags Third Win in Last Four Games

Beachside won the last time they faced St. Johns Country Day, and Maddox Hunstad did his part to make sure it happened again. The Beachside Barracudas secured a 63-59 W over the St. Johns Country Day Spartans on Thursday thanks in part to Hunstad, who went 7 for 15 en route to 25 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Jeevan Iyengar, who posted 13 points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Despite the loss, St. Johns Country Day still got an impressive performance from Camden Cooper, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 24 points and three steals. Cooper is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Erik Williams was another key player, putting up four points along with nine boards and five blocks.

Beachside is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for St. Johns Country Day, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-11.

Beachside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-52 victory against Bartram Trail on the 24th. As for St. Johns Country Day, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 84-59 win against First Coast Christian on the 24th.
