Basketball Game Preview: Loris Lions vs. Georgetown Bulldogs

Loris has gone 8-2 against Georgetown recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Loris Lions will face off against the Georgetown Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Georgetown took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Loris, who comes in off a win.

Loris is headed into the contest having just posted their biggest win since December 11, 2024 on Tuesday. They blew past Waccamaw 59-38.

Loris' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Janiya Richburg led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Richburg has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. Another player making a difference was Dazena Capers, who went 8 of 13 on her way to 17 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Georgetown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 48-34 bruising from Marlboro County.

Loris' victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Georgetown, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Everything came up roses for Loris against Georgetown when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 67-11 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Loris since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
