Softball Game Preview: Jarrell Cougars vs. Lampasas Badgers

The Jarrell Cougars will head out to face off against the Lampasas Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Jarrell has given up an average of 12.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Things were looking good for Jarrell after they put the first points on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against Burnet, falling 15-4. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Lampasas lost a heartbreaker to Salado when they met back in March of 2022, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. Lampasas took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Salado.

Jarrell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12-2. As for Lampasas, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Jarrell came out on top in a nail-biter against Lampasas when the teams last played back in April of 2024, sneaking past 10-9. Does Jarrell have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lampasas turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
