Princeton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, while North Johnston put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Eastern Wayne. The Panthers put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 15-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won six in a row.
Daniel Turner was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ty Hinton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Cooper Hall was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
Princeton has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for North Johnston, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.
Both Princeton and North Johnston just can't seem to miss. The Bulldogs have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like North Johnston struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Princeton came out on top in a nail-biter against North Johnston when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
