Gray's Creek came into Wednesday's match looking for another win against Cape Fear, but Damien Gary wouldn't allow it. The Cape Fear Colts secured a 56-52 W over the Gray's Creek Bears on Wednesday thanks in part to Gary, who posted 22 points in addition to seven boards and six assists. That's the most points he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Gray's Creek lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ezekiel Reed, who went 5 of 9 to rack up 14 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Quion Andrews, who went 5 for 10 en route to 14 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Cape Fear and bumps their season record up to 9-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Gray's Creek, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Cape Fear wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-37 win against Jack Britt on the 7th. As for Gray's Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 70-58 defeat against South View on the 7th.
