Volleyball Recap: Haley Cox and Aundrea Garcia Secure Win for Olathe + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Moffat County, Olathe was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Ridgway Demons by a score of 3-1. That looming 3-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pirates yet this season.

Olathe was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 25-17.

Leading Olathe to victory were Aundrea Garcia and Haley Cox. Garcia had 14 digs and one assist, while Cox had 14 digs, six aces, and two blocks. Those 14 digs gave Garcia a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Olathe was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 21 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

With the win, Olathe broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6. As for Ridgway, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Olathe will head out to take on Gunnison at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ridgway, they will be playing at home against Ouray at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
