Preview: Hawthorne Bears vs. New Milford Knights
The Hawthorne Bears will look to defend their home field on Friday against the New Milford Knights at 6:00 p.m. New Milford took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hawthorne, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Hawthorne earned a 20-13 victory over Lyndhurst.
Hawthorne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cormac Smith, who rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, New Milford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell 28-21 to St. Mary.
The losing side was boosted by Jerzey Ryan, who threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Hawthorne's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for New Milford, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5.
